How To Delete Songs From iTunes

We frequently shuffle up our music list, but what about deleting the ones you don’t want to listen anymore or have duplicates of it. In this article, we will teach you to remove songs from your iPhone and iTunes. 

Note: Deleting songs from iTunes won’t delete the songs on your PC, it just removes it from the iTunes library. Deleting songs from iTunes will also delete the same songs from your iPhone/iPad when synced. 

How to Delete Songs on iTunes

  1. Launch iTunes on your computer.
    Open iTunes app
  2. Select Songs from the left pane and make sure you are under Library

  1. Click on the song you want to delete and press Delete on your keyboard. You can also right-click on the music and select Delete from the library. 
    • If you wish to select multiple songs at once, hold the Control key and select the songs you want to delete.
  2. If a confirmation prompt appears, choose Delete song

How to Delete Albums on iTunes

  1. Select Albums from the left pane. 
  2. Make sure you are under the Library tab. 
  3. Navigate and right-click on the album you wish to delete. 
  4. A confirmation window appears, select Delete Songs/Song

How to Delete Songs on an iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone/iPad.
  2. Tap on General and select iPhone Storage or iPad Storage. 
  3. Scroll and select Music
  4. Now, swipe left on any song, album or artist you want to delete. If you want to delete all songs, swipe left on All Songs
  5. Tap on Delete

How to delete songs from Apple Music app 

  1. Launch the Apple Music app and navigate to the song you want to delete. 
  2. Press and hold the music you wish to remove. If you are on Mac, hover your mouse over the song and click on the three-dot icon. 
  3. Now, tap or click on Remove.
  4. Select Remove or Remove Download. If you want to delete the song from all devices using Apple music, select Delete from Library.
