While surfing the internet, web-browsers develop cache files, which helps in faster loading of pages. However, cache tends to create problems like loading older pages, even though the webpages are updated and others. Follow these steps to clear the cache on your Safari web browser.

Steps to Clear Cache on Safari (Mac)

  1. Open the Safari web browser on your Mac.
  2. Click on Safari at the top left corner of the app window.
  3. A drop-down menu will appear, select Preferences.
  4. Now, click on the Advanced tab at the top bar.
  5. In the advanced settings page, mark the Show Develop menu in menu bar checkbox and close the Preferences window.
  6. After that, click on Develop in the menu bar.
  7. A menu will drop-down, select the Empty Caches option.

How To Clear Cache on Safari browser on iPhone/iPad

Note: This will delete your browsing history, cookies, and cache.

  1. Launch the Settings app on your iOS device.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Safari.
  3. Now, tap on Clear History and Website Data. 
  4. A popup menu will appear at the bottom of your screen, select Clear History and Data.

  1. Click on History from the top menu bar.
  2. A dropdown menu will appear, select Clear History. 
  3. A popup window will appear, select the time range of your browsing history.
  4. Now, click on Clear History, and your browsing history will be cleared.

  1. Click on Safari at the top left corner of the app window.
  2. In the dropdown menu, select Preferences.
  3. Now, go to the Privacy tab.
  4. Click on the Remove All Website Data button.
  5. A popup window will appear, select Remove Now.
  6. If you want to clear the stored data by site:
    • Click on the Details button.
    •  Select the sites of which you want to delete the stored data. You can select multiple sites by holding the Command key.
    • Now, click on Remove>Done
